Biography
Born in England U.K, at age three I contracted meningitis. My eyes were damaged which impaired how I saw the world and experienced life. Initially after the illness I was kept isolated at home due to my compromised immune system, which became a time of great loneliness for me. To assist in the long recovery process my father brought for me a huge roll of butcher’s paper to paint on. That unleashed the artist! I discovered that imagination had no boundaries and what was lacking in reality could be created on paper - color, people, animals, sound and movement all came to life. I\\\'ve been creating my own reality ever since. Now recovered, I have dedicated my life to creating art, specializing in oil pastel and acrylic painting. I also help others find their creative muse through the art classes that I teach in the community where I now live in the United States, and through my bead party business www.GirlieGirlBeads.com.
Artist Statement
The creativity of human nature has enabled us to live outside of the natural environment, but this has not stopped us from bringing this natural environment into our artificial world. My work depicts this peculiar marriage that we have created between our planet, its animals and ourselves.
